Location

The workshop will take place at rooms 028a and 028b of building C4 of Escola Politècnica Superior de Castelldefels (see this link), at Campus del Baix Llobregat of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. You can find a map of the campus at the bottom of this page.

How to get there

• From Aeroport d'El Prat

You can take bus L99. The stop is at Terminal T1 of the airport and the ticket costs 1,35€ approximately. The bus leaves every half an hour from 6.45am to 10.15pm. The journey takes half an hour. A map showing the route of bus L99 (pink line) in Castelldefels can be found here.
When getting off the bus in Castelldefels at stop Dr. Ferran, the Campus is a 10 minutes walk away, at the other side of the railway. Take the railway underpass next to the train station, cross the parking, look for the UPC Campus sign, cross the bridge, and you are at the Campus. Getting to Hotel Canal Olímpic takes a few more minutes. Alternatively, buses L95 or L96 have stops near the hotel. Also, there is a taxi stop in front of the train station.
If you arrive late at night at the airport, you can take a taxi to Castelldefels (25€ approximately).

• From Barcelona

There are four to six trains an hour from Barcelona-Passeig de Gràcia Station and Barcelona-Sants Station. You can find the timetable here. The journey takes twenty minutes and the name of the line is C2. At Barcelona-Sants Station the train usually leaves from platform 10. The ticket costs 1,40€ approximately. In this map the train station of Castelldefels is marked "Est. RENFE Castelldefels". Remember to get off at stop Castelldefels, and not at stop Castelldefels Platja.
Buses L94, L95 and L97 also connect Barcelona with Castelldefels. You can find maps and timetables here.
Even at night you can reach Castelldefels from Barcelona and vice versa by public transport. The night buses covering this route are N14 and N16. For more information see here.

Excursion

On Wednesday afternoon we will visit the installations of Caves Recaredo. This is one of the most prestigious brands of Catalan cava.

Other social activities

We will reserve a few tables at some bar in Castelldefels to watch the final of the FIFA World Cup 2010.
The workshop dinner will take place at some restaurant in Castelldefels next to the beach on Wednesday evening.
