On Wednesday July 1, 19:00, there will be a special social event in memory of Ferran Hurtado.
The event will consist of a wine tasting. The tasting will be in charge of sommelier Meritxell Falgueras, from El Celler de Gelida, a wine shop that Ferran used to frequent.

The wine tasting costs 19 € per person, and is not included in the registration fee.
You will have the chance to sign up for this special social event when filling in the registration form.

Getting there

From the venue or from residence Torre Girona:

Take metro at Palau Reial, direction Trinitat Nova, until station Plaça del Centre. From the metro exit, walk down along street Vallespir until number 88; it should take about 2 minutes.
Walking the whole way should take about 30 minutes.

From residence Investigadors:

Take the metro at Liceu, direction Zona Universitària, to Plaça del Centre. From the metro exit, walk down along street Vallespir until number 88; it should take about 2 minutes.

From residence Campus del Mar:

Take bus number 59 or D20 at Passeig Marítim, get off at Drassanes (bus stop “Portal de la Pau”). Alternatively, you can go on foot from the residence until Drassanes, it is a nice 20-minute walk. In Drassanes, take the metro direction Zona Universitària, until station Plaça del Centre. From the metro exit, walk down along street Vallespir until number 88; it should take about 2 minutes.

Wine selection

The selection has been made by the person in El Celler de Gelida who used to sell wines to Ferran, and is meant to contain wines that Ferran would have probably liked.
The wines that will be tasted are the following.

• FURVUS 2011 (D.O. Montsant)
• AALTO 2012 (D.O. Ribera del Duero)
• ARTADI Viñas de Gain 2012 (D.O. Rioja)

Four years ago, the XIV Spanish Meeting on Computational Geometry was hold in honor of Ferran Hurtado’s 60th Birthday, to try to thank him for all he had done for our community. Ferran surprised all of us with the following gift for each of the participants:
